Information for slaughter tree
To fell a tree, a certificate of authorization is required.
Cost: Free or $50 for tree felling permit in a wooded area
It is prohibited for any person to undertake the felling of a tree without having obtained a permit. For tree felling to be authorized, it must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1) The tree must be dead or suffering from an incurable disease;
2) The tree must be dangerous for the safety of people;
3) The tree must be a nuisance to the growth and well-being of neighboring trees.
4) The tree must cause damage to public or private property. 5) The tree must be a nuisance to an agricultural activity.
6) The tree must be felled in order to build or develop a structure that complies with town planning regulations. A request to fell a tree cannot be received between October 15 and April 15 of the following year.
