Rosemère felling permit

Information for slaughter tree

On the territory of the city, any felling, any over-pruning, any topping or topping, any girdling or any poisoning of a tree whose trunk is 2.5 centimeters or more in diameter, measured at 1 meter above the ground level, is prohibited.

Pruning a tree is permitted as long as this work is done in a manner that does not harm the health or safety of the tree. Tree pruning must be done in accordance with the requirements of the most recent version of the Bureau de normalization du Québec standard entitled NQ 0605-200-IV - Tree pruning.

HOW TO OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORIZATION FOR CUTTING TREES

To obtain a certificate of authorization for tree cutting, you must send the form duly completed by the owner to the Permits and Inspections Department. The trees to be cut or inspected must be clearly identified with tape, by a detailed sketch or by attaching a photo to the form. After transmission to the Permits and Inspections Department, the inspection of the tree(s) will take place within the following 2 weeks. If the application is accepted, the Permits and Inspections Department will contact the applicant to advise them of the cost of the permit* and details. When the planting of a replacement tree is required, proof of replacement (photos, invoices) must also be sent to the Permits and Inspections Department before the scheduled date.
