Information for slaughter tree

The regulations of the City of Prévost state that a tree must be dead, diseased, harmful or dangerous for felling to be authorized. In all cases, if the trunk of the tree has a diameter greater than 3 inches (7.5 cm) measured at 4 feet (1.3 m) from the ground (chest height), a permit must be obtained from the Environmental Service . No permit is necessary below this diameter. There is no fee associated with issuing a permit to fell twenty (20) trees or less. A forest engineer's report and a $50 fee are required to obtain a permit to fell more than 20 trees.

The application form is available online and can be transferred by email. The citizen who has photos clearly presenting the reason for the felling (zoom in on the dangerous or affected part or the problematic situation) as well as the location of the tree (for example, a photo showing the entire yard and the position of tree in relation to buildings or other landmark), may obtain expedited processing; inspection may not be required.
