Information for slaughter tree

A permit is required to fell:

  • a dangerous or harmful tree ($50 per tree);

  • a dead tree, suffering from an incurable disease or seriously affected by the emerald ash borer (free);

  • a dead ash tree or one seriously affected by the emerald ash borer (free);

  • trees over a large area in an agricultural or wooded area ($100 + [$25 x number of hectares]).

No permit is required to prune or plant a tree.
