Bois-des-Filion felling permit

The City of Bois-des-Filion allows the felling of trees located on private land, under certain conditions only. A certificate of authorization is required to fell any deciduous tree with a diameter of 10 cm or more (diameter calculated at 1.3 m from the ground) and all conifers with a height of more than 2 meters.

Felling a tree may be justified in cases where the tree:

· Has died or suffered from an incurable illness;

· Represents a danger to the safety of people;

· Prevents the growth of neighboring trees;

· Makes it impossible to carry out work or uses in compliance with the regulations;

· Must be felled to carry out work for public purposes.

In some cases, the felled tree must be replaced by another tree on the land.
